When you hear the name
“Dancing Fox Cabin”
your mind may envision multiple possible images....
"Native, Cheerful, Natural"
Dancing Fox cabin is in keeping with our 1842 farmstead’s ambience and its existing Harpster-Davenport Guesthouse. Often early settlers would erect a simple cabin on the same property prior to building a more permanent home. This cabin is a reflection and our vision of one of those early and by-gone structures. .
With it’s rural locale setting, simple shed roof style outline, barn wood exterior cladding, interior walls sheathed in white-washed boards, wide-plank pine flooring, rustic hand-made kitchen cabinetry and barn beam framing…you will be enveloped by the subtle feelings of our pioneers, a sense of soothing well-being and one of a simpler more calmer lifestyle.
Patio with limestone pathway
The Dancing Fox Cabin is your opportunity to experience what no other lodging in Ohio has to offer. Imagine as you follow its meandering pathway to your wide-berth front porch, stepping across the threshold of your original swinging barn door entry and then begin feasting your eyes, spirit and senses upon … another time and another place.
Our "friendship garden”
As family, friends and guests come and go they often bring us plants, seedlings, cuttings or seeds for us to plant within our our growing history of this farmsteads continuing legacy. During growing season, we share our "settlers garden" with our guests providing fresh and healthy produce for your enjoyment.
